About Kingston Harper

Kingston Harper

With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant families are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure.  The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses.  In Portland, volunteers are raising funds for COTA in honor of transplant patients like local toddler, Kingston Harper.

Kingston is the son of Daniel and Amber Harper.  Born on June 27, 2011, Kingston was diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Failure.  The doctors at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, recommended a life-saving kidney transplant, which he successfully received from his father on January 7, 2013.  An estimated $35,000 is being raised by Portland volunteers.
